SAAZ Music circle

SAAZ Music uses SAAZ Music Circle to showcase talents for any ages or abilities through regular small concerts. We also hold our Annual Celebration of Indian Classical Music which includes many of the world's best artists teaching and performing around the UK, using our SAAZ Music Circle links, with details spread using our Facebook, Twitter, email list, and our website. Find SAAZ Music on Facebook and Twitter as 'SAAZ Music Circle'.

What is the SAAZ Music Circle?

We have set up an Indian music circle to encourage and nurture performers in the East of England region. The SAAZ Music Circle will be open to everyone - students, teachers and anyone who is interested in performing and listening to Indian classical music. Whenever possible we will also invite accomplished musicians from outside the region to give special performances.

Why is the SAAZ Music Circle being set up?

Although there are teachers and many students there are few opportunities to develop performance skills and experience. There are also few places in our region where we can go and listen to Indian classical music on a regular basis.

How often will the SAAZ Music Circle meet?

Our aim is to meet once every two months.

Where will the concerts be held?

We are looking for venues in the Herts and Beds regions. If you have a venue that can accommodate about 20-50 people please let us know.

Who can perform?

The Circle will be open to all students of all levels (beginners to advanced), teachers and anyone who else who is interested in performing Indian classical music. We also want to develop an audience base and so if you are interested to come and listen please do contact us.

How much time will the performers have and how long will the concerts last?

As we want to encourage as many performances as possible, each performer will typically have 10 min. if you want more time just let us know. More time will be given to specially invited artists. What is important is that we encourage as many performers as we can. The concerts will last between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on the number of performances.

Will there be a charge to attend?

We would like the showcases to be free but we hope you can make a voluntary donation towards the running costs.

How can you help?

You can support this initiative in many  ways - performing, coming to listen, volunteering to organise one of the Circle concerts as well as offering a venue. Most importantly we need your support to make this initiative a success.
