Yogesh Samsi
is one of the most accomplished tabla artists in the world today. He has received his training in music from some of the most distinguished masters in India. The most noteworthy was the late Ustad Alla Rakha Khan Sahib with whom Yogesh spent 23 years under his direct guidance on the Punjab Gharana (school or style of playing).

He has lectured on the subject of Indian Percussion music widely in India, USA and other countries including UK. He is an international performer of the highest level be it for solo concerts or accompanying instrumentalists, vocalists or dance performers.
Alongside his performance career, he continues to conduct in-depth research in the development of north Indian percussion music in relation to layakari (interaction of different tempo and time cycles), construction and execution of compositions from different Gharanas (for example Ajrara and Delhi as well as Punjab) and comparative analysis of reportoire composed by various masters of Tabla. This is evident in his performances. He has also been teaching Tabla in India, Europe and USA for many years.
